Where to go on a trip with a dog: Krkonoše - After sunrise on Sněžka (14 km)

Surely more than one of us has already completed a trip to Sněžka, whether with or without dogs, in summer or winter. This sunrise trip is guaranteed to bring you a new experience.

Route

We started at one o'clock in the morning from the parking lot in Pec pod Sněžkou . The journey up via Růžohorky took us less than two and a half hours, despite occasional stops for rest and drinks. The route is moderately demanding with a gradual ascent. For the ascent, the temperature at night was quite acceptable for both humans and dogs, and the weather conditions were also mild.

At the top of Sněžka, however, the temperature felt much lower and it was windy. With a reserve for the journey, we thus had an intermediate space at the top for resting and huddling against the wind, while we anxiously awaited the first rays of the sun. I saw several people wrapped in aluminum foil, so I took out my own, which I always carry with me just in case - and it came in handy. And while we hardly met any of the little people along the route, there was already a crowd at the top and growing with each passing minute. The views were magnificent.

After dawn, we set off in the direction of Obří Důl and along the blue road down to Peca. The trip also took us a little over two hours with stops. Expect a greater load on the locomotor apparatus, this path is steeper, it is good to have dogs taught to walk by a dog handler. You will follow the last part of the route on an asphalt road.

We left the parking lot around eight o'clock in the morning. The parking fee is paid at the machine for the whole day, i.e. 250 CZK. It is necessary to have your own snack, but on the way from Peca you will meet several gas stations where you can kick yourself with a morning coffee.
