Where to go on a trip with a dog: Krkonoše - Pančavský waterfall (18 km)

From the center of Špindlerův Mlýn, you will have approx. 18 km and you will climb 700 m. If you are starting from the St. Peter area like us, prepare for approx. 21 km and additional climbed meters.

The surface is varied - about a third is a pleasant forest/sandy/rocky path, a third on large stones and a third on asphalt (but in the forest in the shade the whole time).

The level of difficulty is quite high , the first 6 km will only be a constant climb.

It is not suitable for a baby carriage and with small children it is also worth considering due to the difficult descent on the stones (or you can go in the opposite direction, the ascent over the boulders will probably be safer than the descent).

The starting point is the center of Špindlerův Mlýn (by the bridge), from where you take the red direction Horní Mísečky, then connect to the yellow direction Vrbatova bouda, from there take the red again to Labská bouda, and from there take the blue back to Špindle.

Up to Vrbatá bouda you only go up, further to Labská bouda it's a straight line, from there to Špindl you only go downhill.

In Špindlerův Mlýn, there are countless options where to stay or eat (from cheaper guesthouses to expensive wellness hotels). Most accommodation charges a fee for a dog - we recommend that you find out in advance so that you are not surprised on the spot (some hotels ask for 600 - 700 CZK/dog/night). If you only come for a day, parking is also not a problem (again for a fee).

On this route, you can have refreshments in addition to Šp. Mlýna and Horní Míseček also at the mentioned Vrbatov and Labská bouda.

Nowhere did we encounter that they wouldn't let us in with dogs. In addition, there are a large number of restaurants with a garden, where there is usually no problem.

From Labská bouda, it is only about a kilometer to the source of the Elbe, so you can make a detour to this place as well.

A large part of this route will also delight you with really beautiful views of the countryside.

But if you have the impression that after a difficult ascent you will enjoy a "lonely romance" on the tops of the mountains, you will probably be disappointed, because buses bring tourists up to Vrbat's hut, so this area is usually significantly overcrowded. In addition, the road in this section is very narrow, so sometimes it can be a bit tricky with dogs, especially if you are faster.
