Where to go on a trip with a dog: Krkonoše - Špindl - Buda Bílé Labe (13 km)
Krkonoše with a dog: From Spindle to the Bílá Labe hut
Thank you Míša for the post Where to go on a trip to the Krkonoše Mountains with a dog!
Krkonoše hiking route with a dog
Špindlerův Mlýn - White Elbe Hut - Špindlerův Mlýn
The entire circuit measures approximately 13 km, the climbed meters are a little over 400, which may seem like a lot, but it is usually such a long and gradual ascent that you hardly notice :) Only about 1 km is such a steeper climb.
Part of the path leads on asphalt, the approximately 1 km steeper climb leads through the forest on stones, then there is only a beautifully groomed sandy path, along which you will gradually descend back to Špindle.
The difficulty is lower.
Starting point of the Krkonoše trip with a dog
For us, the starting point was Špindlerův Mlýn-Svatý Petr, but the route goes through the center of Špindl anyway, so I will take it from there.
From the center, take the blue path along the Bílé Labe in the direction of Buda Bílé Labe. On the way you will pass, among other things, the cable car to Medvědín. The whole way you only climb slightly on the asphalt road.
At Bouda Bílá Labe you continue up the yellow trail (approx. 1 km of steeper ascent), after which you only have to descend back to Špindle. This path is called the Dřevařská cesta and you will find it marked as such on the signs.
It will take you to the mentioned area of St. Peter, from where you still have to walk down to the center of Špindl, which is a little over 1 km.
In Špindlerův Mlýn, there are countless options where to stay or eat (from cheaper guesthouses to expensive wellness hotels). Most accommodation charges a fee for a dog - we recommend that you find out in advance so that you are not surprised on the spot (some hotels want even 600 - 700 CZK/dog/night).
If you only come for a day, parking is also not a problem (again for a fee).
Refreshments on a Krkonoše trip with a dog
If you don't want to eat directly in the center of Špindlerův Mlýn, you have other options at the cable car to Medvědín, there is another restaurant and then the Bílá Labe Hut itself.
If you return from here on the Dřevařská route to the center of Šp. Mlýna, you will go through the area of St. Peter, where there are again many hotels and restaurants.
We have never experienced any problem regarding the presence of dogs.
Next
You walk along the river as far as Buda Bílá Labe, so there is plenty of water. Attention, the current is quite strong , I would probably prefer not to let especially small hairy ones into the water in some places. But you will find many places where the water is really shallow.
When the sun is shining, the asphalt is hot, and in some places it is even flowing, it is necessary not to forget the boots .
Very nice views await you on the Timber Path.
The more sporty part of our expedition considers this circuit to be great for running. :) But with the dog, it's more like for leisure, the surface is hard, so it's not suitable for pulling.
