Fennel is used to prevent gastric torsion, which is a serious risk for dogs. This is a stomach twist that is extremely painful and can kill a dog within hours.
Prebiotics are non-digestible substances (e.g. lactulose or fructooligosaccharides). Their purpose is to ensure that the intestinal microflora has enough nutrients and functions better. This strengthens the bacteria that support the colon in particular.
